A licence to assign or underlet is a document by which a landlord gives consent to a tenant's request to assign the lease or grant an underlease. It is a contractual agreement between landlord, tenant, and often the proposed assignee or undertenant. The licence sets out the conditions on which consent is given and may impose additional obligations.
